The Whole Body Cleanliness Issue

I have a almost 12 yr. old who is into most certainly puberty. He needs to shower everyday evidenced by his greasy hair and body odor! However, he does not seem the least bit worried about this. I am not sure how to impress upon him that his smell is, well, offensive. He does like a girl and I have said that girls do like nice smelling boys. No avail.
Does anyone have any great ideas that have worked for them? Please tell...
